The number one thing to think about when you get a conure is do you honestly think you could devote 1-2 hours minimum playing time with this bird everyday.
If you never had a bird getting a conure isn't a very good idea. They are messy, loud, and if not trained properly can give a nasty bite.
Never get one if you live in an apartment because of the noise they make.
Never expect a conure to be fully trained if you buy them from a pet store. They're more tamed if hand-raised by a breeder.
Compared to a Budgie or a 'Tiel they are extremely expensive.
The bird itself is about $300-$500 and a large cage is expensive too.
Plus they need a lot of toys to keep them happy. If you are thinking about getting a conure keep these things in mind!
Sincerely,
BirdBrain

Can I ask something? Did you do any research before putting this information together? The reason why I ask is because some of the information you have here is much, much different then what I have experienced with my two Conures.

sorry but i've had dififerent expireances...my one friend bought a adult conure from petsmart and it was uncontrollable. I helped him make it tame but it took a lot of work. I don't mean that getting a conure is a bad idea but a budgie or a 'tiel is a better "starter bird." sorry about the confusion.
