I must say in all the years I've had birds I never had a love bird. I do know they do best in pairs and shouldn't live in the same cage as an other species of bird. They tend to be way to agressive for a cockatiel because they like to play hard and can hurt a 'Tiel or a Budgie. If anyone wants to add on to this, go right ahead.

I am getting a Nyasa Love bird, Oct 21st, they are the smallest of the lovebirds, just about the same size of a Parrotlet, his name is Sydney right now he is 3 weeks old..They do not need to be in pairs, matter of fact it is better to have one in it own cage, or just one in the house, as they won't ineract with the owner, if not paid attention to they will regress to being wild very quickly...they are sweethearts, but very hyper and you are right they can hurt another species, like a Cockatiel, so I am going to have to be very careful with him around my Liberty..he is being handfeed and right now learning to step up..the breeder is going to send me a picture of just him, when she does I will post it, they kinda look like the Fischer love birds except smaller, mostly red and green and have a red beak very pretty little guys..

I got the sweetest email form Sydneys breeder, he has 1 brother and 3 sisters, the breeder told me they are at the age right now, when they see her they all get very excited, she has been transporting them around the house in a basket, now when she opens the cage door and puts the basket up to it, all five of the Nyasa Lovebird babies jump right into the basket, is that cute or what ! ;D
